Stocking Stuffers For Makeup Lovers

What's up guys! It has been a while since I have put up a blog post because I have just had so much going on these past few months. Long story short, school got the best of me, but thankfully this semester is over!! Now that school is over I will be posting much more frequently! I am looking forward to the new year because there is so much I am excited to share with you!

Today I wanted to share with you some of my favorite stocking stuffer ideas for those of you who are obsessed with makeup! Ever since the week of Black Friday, I have been keeping my eye on amazing deals and also those to die for holiday gift sets (I can never resist those)! I picked a few different things that I found that are perfect for on the go beauty babes. Some of these things I already have and love and the others are on my wishlist, like the Tarte On The Go Palettes.

What is catching your eye this holiday season? I'd love to check it out.

Fall Fashion Under 40$

Happy Monday Everyone!

I hope you all had a fun packed weekend. This weekend I took the first of my CSETs (tests to become a teacher for anyone who is unfamiliar with the term) and then I went out with some friends afterwards! Of course I ended up getting sick and just laying in bed the rest of the weekend, but that meant online shopping and that's exactly what I did!

I don't know about you guys, but I am obsessed with Windsor! They have such cute clothes at really affordable prices! Since fall is approaching (can you believe August is over this week?!) I did some much needed clothes shopping and picked up some fun pieces for this fall. Here in Southern California it doesn't get cooler until about November so I decided to pick up a super cute taupe midi dress and this pink suede moto jacket to layer over it on cooler nights. I am honestly OBSESSED with this pink moto jacket and I can't wait for my package in the mail! The best part? All of these pieces are UNDER 40$!! You're Welcome. I know I haven't done any fashion posts with me wearing the clothes, but I will be sure to do that as soon as I can to show you all how cute these pieces are! What are some of your favorite fall styles? Anything you want to see? Let me know in the comments below!

A Style Guide For 8am Classes

Happy Monday Everyone! Today is the first day of my fall semester! So in honor of that I decided to do another College Edition post on some quick and easy fashion and beauty for those 8am classes. I don't know about any of you, but I was once the college student that showed up in sweats to my 8am classes. Needless to stay, I felt so blah on those days. Ever since then I have been mixing and matching my favorite basic pieces that make getting out the door before 8am a breeze. Shorts, a basic tee, some converse and some sort of accessory! Easy. Other than getting dressed in the morning, I always make sure to put some sort of makeup on. Even the most simple of makeup makes me feel 100x more put together than a bare face. Some concealer, mascara, and a nude lip are perfect for just that. What are some of your quick and simple beauty and fashion go to pieces for when you need to get out of the door early? Drop them in the comments below, i'd love to check them out!

P.S. The Rebecca Minkoff Sandals in look three are 50% off!

Have a great week!

College Edition: What To Expect Your First Semester Of College

Whether you are diving right into a four year college or starting out at a two year college, here are a few things you should expect your first semester of college. I am heading into my final year of college this next week and I couldn't be more excited for that. These past five years (yes, five years) have taught me a lot and I have met so many really great people along the way. So without further ado, here are some things that these past years have taught me that may help you out as you start this adventure.

  1. Before the first day of classes make sure you go and find where all of your classes are, because nothing is worse than running around frantically trying to find where your next class is and then walking in late. (Been there, done that). You better believe the following semester I hunted down my classes before hand. Soon enough you will figure out where everything and this will become less of a necessity later on.
  2. There are a ton of new things happening now that you are in college. This is most likely your first time away on your own and off without your high school bff. As scary as this may seem, take it and turn it into something awesome. Join clubs that have to do with your interests, rush a sorority, try out for a club sport, and participate in those silly events your residence hall puts on. These guys are just starting out also and will most likely be some of your greatest friends once you graduate.
  3. Ahh the "freshman fifteen". It is only a real thing if you let it be. Find your gym on campus and make sure you fit it into your schedule somewhere. It is paid for by your tuition. Other than the gym, you will be temped by the delicious options that your meal plan and dinning hall have to offer. Not to mention all the parties you will attend with endless booze (sorry mom). Those calories will add up if you don't pay attention. I think this is an overrated concept so don't worry to much about it. Just make sure you are being conscious of what you are eating and how much you are exercising if you don't want the freshmen fifteen to be a thing.
  4. Are you commuting to school and right about now you are freaking out about how you are going to make friends since you aren't going to be in the dorms like the rest of your friends? Don't worry. I was that person. I turned out fine. Like I stated in #2, join clubs and try out for a sports. It may be a little bit more work because things on campus aren't as accessible if you are commuting, but it is still possible. There is normally events the first week of school that are advertised all over the place. Look out for those and make time to attend. It will be worth it in the end.
  5. Your first semester, make sure you find out where the important resources you will need are. For instance, find the Starbucks or coffee shop on campus. You will need it. The library will be your best friend when you need somewhere to study. Sure you can probably find that easy enough, but make sure you walk around and stake out a spot that you enjoy studying at. Some levels of the library are quiet zones and others are for group work. Just find your place, grab a coffee and a snack and hunker down. Find your advisors on campus, they will save your life when you have questions about what classes you need to be taking. Also, find out where your professors offices are located. You'll want to know where they are when you don't know how to figure out problem number 23 on your third homework assignment.
  6. Lastly, this is not like high school anymore. A ton of responsibility just landed in your lap, but you got this. Enjoy these next four years. Like the saying goes, work hard party harder. Nail those courses, be the life of the party, start a club, and join the team. Each person writes their own story just remember it is what you make of it. Welcome to college life.

I hope these tips help guide you in the right direction as you navigate your first semester. This can't possibly be all the information out there and so you will learn a lot as you go. Stay tuned for some upcoming College Edition posts on supplies you'll want to have, some style & beauty tips and tricks, and how to find balance in this crazy new life.

Are you a first time freshman? Did you find these tips helpful? Have anymore questions for me? Drop them in the comments or you can find my email here.

Have a great week!

This Megan Wright Design Co office feature at Best Friends for Frosting

Rachel Parcell's new office space at Pink Peonies

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Today I wanted to post a little office space inspiration! Lately I have been really wanting to redo my office area especially with the new school year approaching. I decided to put together some of my school year essentials that include a big tote like this Michael Kors Tote and this Target Yearly Planner, but then I also wanted to feature some of my favorite office spaces that I have seen on some of your blogs!

I really love the light and bright looks that these four blogs have created for themselves. I am dying for a new desk, storage space, and some inspiration boards to post all of my ideas. I can't wait to be able to create the space of my my dreams! If you have an office space post on your blog, I would love to check it out, so post a link down below!

For the Sole

Bottom Left: BP Lovee Flat

Happy Monday everyone! I'm back! It has been a few months since I have last posted here and let me tell you I have missed it! A lot of things were going on so to put it simply, I just had to take a break. I recently wrapped up my spring semester of college and plan to put a lot more effort into blogging as I start my summer adventures. I am looking forward to posting more fashion, beauty, and adventure so stay tuned!

For today's post I compiled some of my favorite shoes for the summer season. Lately I have been OBSESSED with d'Orsay flats and pointy toe pumps. Plus these colors and prints have been my go to. I am always on the hunt for cute flats and pumps. If you have some favorites, drop them in the comments below!

Spring

Spring 1//2//3//4//5

I don't know about you guys, but I have been CRAVING spring lately. Here in Southern California we went straight from 60 degrees (which is freezing to us) to 90 degrees. So basically I went from sixteen layers to wearing shorts, a tank top, and flip flops. I am sitting here enjoying my AC and admiring cute spring time things as I patiently wait for our weather here to reach a nice medium. I could be 70 years old by then though. I am really digging these pastels lately, what are your spring go toes?

P.S. Everything but the watch is under 100$ (the watch is under 200$)!

Have a Great Day!

Warby Parker

Style One: Finch in color Bellini.
Style Two: Laurel in Peacock.
Style Three: Crane in Atlantic Blue.
Style Four: Raglan in Pearled Tortoise.
Style Five: Reilly in Whiskey Tortoise.

Hey guys! Happy Tuesday! I'm excited about today's post because I got my Warby Parker Home Try on box in the mail this weekend! The Warby Parker Home Try On program allows you to pick five frames from their website and have them sent to you for free so you can pick your frames, send them back, and purchase your favorites on line! And that's not even the best part. First off they are super inexpensive AND for every pair purchased, a pair is given to someone in need! I think that is awesome.
When I was trying them on it was hard for me to pick which one I liked best. I love the new spring colors and of course I couldn't leave out the sunnies! I'm far sighted, so I need glasses for reading, and as a full time college student I do that a lot. I love the idea of having prescription sunnies because in Southern California I am always outside studying and let me tell you, I look like the biggest nerd with my reading glasses under my regular sunglasses lol. You can also just grab regular non-prescription sunglasses off their site. I'm seriously in love with all their frames! I think I'm going to snag the Laurel Peacock glasses and the Raglan Sunnies. What do you guys think? Check out their eye glasses here and their sunnies here

Lipstick Love

Lipstick

Hello February!

So lately I have been OBSESSED with everything lipstick. And if you can't tell, I obviously have a color scheme that I favor haha. I tend to lean toward the mauve's and deep reds. Just recently I have been trying to get myself out of my comfort zone and try more light pinks and purple colors in preparation for the spring. These are some of my go to brands that you can find me wearing daily! My current go to lipstick that I am always wearing is colourpop westie. It is the most perfect shade of pale pink ever! Other than that I have a whole wish list of shades and these are some of them!

From left to right:
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dainty Lipgloss
NYX Devils Food Cake Butter Gloss
 Anastasia Beverly Hills Trust Issues
Mac Del Rio
Gerard Vintage Rose

Well, after compiling some fun stuff for him for valentines day, I decided it would be fun to do a for her post. I mean how could I not. I will probably forever have Christian Louboutin and Philip Lim on my wish list so of course I had to throw those up there. Some of my favorite pieces in my collection are Michael Kors, Mac, Dolce & Gabbana, and Victoria's Secret. I have also been super loving blush tones so I thought hey why not lets make it into a thing. What's on your wish list?

Have an amazing weekend!

Back to School

Happy Monday Everyone! It's that time of year again, where my fun filled break goes back to schedules full work and class. With that being said, this will be a learning curve for me. Having a blog while trying to work part time and have a full time load of classes on my plate is a lot for me, but I made one of my resolutions to post more here and I have every intention of doing so. I am extremely grateful for my education, so in no way am I complaining about that, but I will say it is hard for me to go back and not have as much time to work on the blog as I am used to. I have had so much fun this past break building my blog, finding so many new blogs to follow, and having you guys reach out to me! I love it! So, even though I may be idle at times, I am still here, I promise. I have some fun adventure posts planned for this week, so stay tuned!

Hair Help!

Hey everyone! So here is something a little different. I grabbed some hairspiration (hair-inspiration :p) off of pinterest or instagram. I have had long dirty blonde hair basically my whole life, so I thought it was time for some change! I was thinking of doing more of a balayage, while lightening the blonder part of my hair. I was also thinking it was time to bob or lob it. Luckily, my hair grows pretty fast, so if I was to hate it I could at least grow it out pretty fast! Drop your thoughts in the comments below! Chop it? Color it? Bright pink maybe, let me know (;  I am really digging the length in the first photo and the color in the the last photo (aka Cara Loren).

This year I didn't get as much time as I was hoping to take on christmas photos, but I managed to squeeze in some super adorable family photos for my brother in laws family! We came across a super cute lake with the most perfect lighting and when it was dark it had the prettiest christmas lights! Can we just rewind and relive the holidays one more time?
